Posted Thursday, January 11, 2007 3:14:23 PM by Blog57 Team
Laura Valaas's streak of sprint victories finally came to an end today at the US Cross Country Championships. But it took the woman with the best Olympic and World Cup finishes in US history to do it. Kikkan Randall (APU) earned her first US title of the year by beating Valaas (CXC) to the line in the women's A-Final. It was the first time the two women have faced each other this year in a sprint race, and it was a highly anticipated match-up after they finished 1-2 in the prelims and each won all of their heats while advancing to the final. In the A-Final, Lindsey Weier (NMU) finished third, while Jennie Bender (Vermont), Rosie Brennan (Park City) and Karin Camenisch rounded out the A-Final. Randall finally reached the top of the podium after two second place finishes this week. Bold and Beautiful Jewelry

One of my favorite daytime soaps is Bold and the Beautiful on CBS, and one reason I like this soap is that the characters are always dressed so fashionably and that includes jewelry. Pictured left is Ashley Jones, aka Bridgett, wearing some long and "wow" gold earrings. The main premise surrounds a family who are fashion industry giants, The Forresters, so of course, it makes sense that the characters are always wearing the latest styles and have some of the most fabulous jewelry. Earrings, especially, long, dangling, fabulous earrings seems to be a B&B favorite. I'd love to know the designer or designers they use. Here are some pictures of Katherine Kelly Lang, aka Brooke, wearing some different pieces of jewelry. From www.tramedibeautiful.com From www.vijftv.be I found Katherine Kelly Lang modeling jewelry for jewelry designer, Deborah Kennedy, though I couldn't find out if Kennedy's jewelry is ever used on the show....

TRIO SHARE LEAD
Posted Wednesday, August 02, 2006 3:16:43 PM by Blog57 Team
Reilley Rankin and Mi Hyun Kim had a share of the second-round lead at the Jamie Farr Classic - but Natalie Gulbis will have nine holes on Saturday to take it all for herself. The trio are tied for the lead at Highlands Meadow Golf Club after the second round was suspended due to heavy rain. Rankin signed for a three-under-par 68 and Kim carded a 66 to each get to eight-under 134. Looking for her first LPGA Tour title, Gulbis was four-under through nine when play was suspended. A total of 71 players were unable to complete the second round as the course at Highland Meadows, already waterlogged from three inches of rain on Wednesday, was rendered unplayable after another downpour. Rankin, who is playing with a new set of clubs after losing hers during travel two weeks ago, had four birdies and a bogey....
