He lived in New York. Bradley, the first African American at CBS to be a White House correspondent and a Sunday night anchor, covered a broad array of stories with insight and aplomb during his 39-year career, from war to politics to sensitive portraits of artists. LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Multiple Emmy Award winner and U.S. game show icon, Bob Barker, announced Tuesday that his 35th year as host of "The Price is Right" will be his last. Barker, who turns 83 in December, will retire in June after five decades on television, TMZ.com reported. He made his debut as host of "Truth or Consequences" in 1956, launched his storied career with the popular "Price is Right" in 1972 and in 2002, broke Johnny Carson's record for continuous performances on a network TV series, Daily Variety reported. In an interview, CBS Daytime Vice President Barbara Bloom noted Barker's appeal reaches across generations. "It doesn't matter whether you're a grandmother or a college student, you've watched 'The Price Is Right' and had fun doing it because of what Bob brings as a host," she told Variety....

Emmy Award-winning actor Bruce Willis was honored for his film work Monday with star No. 2,321 along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His three daughters and former wife Demi Moore, her husband Ashton Kutcher, and friends Kevin Costner, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Don Johnson and Sylvester Stallone were among the crowd watching the ceremony, TMZ.com reported. "I used to come down here and look at these stars and I could never quite figure out what you're supposed to do to get one," Willis said. "And time has passed and now here I am doing this, and I'm still excited about it. I'm still excited to be an actor." Willis rose to fame in TV's Moonlighting and won the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in 1987. Since then, he has achieved fame as a big screen action star, counting among his credits 'Die Hard,' 'Pulp Fiction,' 'The Sixth Sense,' 'Sin City' and 'Armageddon.' 'Over the Hedge,' in which Willis voiced RJ the raccoon, comes out on DVD Tuesday and his fourth 'Die Hard' film,' Live Free or Die Hard,' is scheduled for release next summer....

Somehow Mill Valley brings out the modesty in stars who light up its annual film festival

Forest Whitaker knows what it's like to have the phone not ring at 6 the morning when major award nominations are announced. "Nobody wants to call to tell you that you weren't nominated," says Whitaker, who heard only the sound of silence after assurances that he was a shoo-in for an Emmy nod for "The Shield" this year and for an Oscar nomination for "Bird" in 1988. So the genial actor is downplaying the Oscar buzz for his performance as Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland," which opened the Mill Valley Film Festival on Thursday evening along with the British drama "Breaking and Entering." Coming onstage to a prolonged standing ovation, Whitaker told the crowd, "This is real and tangible and something I can take home." Being a guest of honor -- along with "Breaking and Entering" star Robin Wright Penn and producer Sydney Pollack -- at a Bay Area festival has special meaning to Whitaker, who studied acting at the Berkeley branch of the Dramatic School of London in the early 1980s and lived on Telegraph Avenue with his great-aunt....

Former Denver Broncos star TERRELL DAVIS is suing an insurance company for refusing to defend him over an allegedly racist attack at an Emmy Award after-party. It is the second lawsuit Davis has filed over the incident, which occurred at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The ex-footballer previously sued the operator of the hotel's bar for racial discrimination, assault and battery after the 33-year-old, who is black, was asked by the owner to stop talking to a white waitress.
